Just For Laughs.... 7-26-09

......was awesome!!!! Montreal was literally flooded with terrific comics and filmmakers. We realized all we had to do is either hang in the Hyatt Hotel or just walk down Ste-Catherine street, because a bump-in with someone we know would likely happen. We ran into Jim Breuer (got a picture, check the extras page), had an awkward moment with Aziz Ansari in an elevator, and shook hands with Louis C.K. at an after party (which was pretty much all comics from the festival under one roof, it was cooler than ice cream).

Here's some of our favorite comedians we saw perform:
Reggie Watts, make an effort to see him live, this guy is nuts. If you don't believe me, look at his hair.
Nick Thune, if you want to hear a good backflip joke, check him out.
Pete Holmes, he had us in tears.
Louis C.K., a great capper to the trip, legendary.

Here's some films we recommend that we saw:
World's Greatest Dad, directed by Bobcat. Saw a scene of this at the L.A. Comedy Shorts Festival in March, the final product was even better.
Visioneers, Zach Galifianakis gives a great performance in a film I think will unfortunately not get the exposure it deserves. It's already out on DVD and there are still many screenings of this film going on, check it out.

That's it, wish we were back there already. Hopefully we'll make it back next year. I love you Canada.
